Have You Seen This Jacket?

Police are asking the public to look out for the suspect who is believed to be wearing a Champion varsity-style jacket.

Police released a picture Thursday afternoon of the jacket they believe to be worn by the suspect in a months-long series of sexual attacks around the area that began on 16th Street in South Slope in March.

Cops are asking the public to keep an eye out for the suspect who is described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic man who is around 28 years old and was wearing a red baseball cap, blue jeans and a black waist length jacket. Authorities believe the perpetrator’s jacket is a varsity sports-style made by Champion.

The attack, which was caught on video, occurred on March 20 at around 11:30 p.m. when a husky man approached the 24-year-old woman from behind, between Fourth and Fifth avenues, and violently groped her as she screamed and eventually fought him off. The attacker fled as a neighbor stepped outside to investigate the commotion.
