Flatbush AT&T Store Robbed at Gunpoint

Two gun-wielding thugs held up the store in a lunch-hour robbery. Luckily there were no injuries.

Two gun-toting brutes held up a Flatbush AT&T store this afternoon.

The bandits entered the store at around 1: 22 p.m., forcing the cell shop's single employee to lie on the floor as they emptied the register of roughly $500 and nabbed between 30 and 40 cell phones. They also stole $100 from the employee, who had just been paid, according to the store's manager.

The robbers fled post robbery and no injuries were sustained, according to police.

An hour later uniformed police and detectives still crowded the small storefront located at 314 Flatbush Avenue at Park Place.

The owners are still not sure exactly how much cash was taken but they know the theives took some cell phones, a police source said.

This is at least the second hold-up on the block in less than two weeks. On March 27 a man with a gun held up American Apparel, making off with about $700, according to a source familiar with the incident. Police could not confirm whether the two incidents were related.

"This neighborhood is getting worse and worse," said Yung Kim, who owns DNY Natural Land, a few stores down.

Kim said his store was held-up eight years ago, with the theives making off with about $3,000 in cash as well as the employees' watches.
