Crook Smashes Car Window at Prospect Park Zoo and Steals $800

The victim told police that she parked her Toyota Camry in the zoo's parking lot at 7:30 a.m., but left her purse inside.

A crook broke into a car parked near the Prospect Park Zoo and stole almost $800 in cash July 4.

The 52-year-old victim told police that she parked her Toyota Camry in the zoo’s parking lot at 7:30 a.m., but left her purse and other belongings inside the locked car. When she returned at 8:15 a.m., she found that someone had smashed her car window and snatched her purse with six credit cards, ID cards, Blackberry cell phone and $760 in cash.

Laptop Snatch

A thief stole a laptop from a food truck company’s building on Butler Street July 2.

The 33-year-old victim, who works for Wafels & Dinges between Nevins Street and Third Avenue, told police that the thief walked into his office and stole his MacBook Pro at 7:30 a.m. The crook was caught on camera and described as a black man standing 5-foot-7, weighing 140 lbs., who was wearing a multi-colored baseball hat, gray t-shirt, black jeans and black shoes. Another employee saw the crook in the lobby before he stole the laptop.
