Cops Nab Slope Sexual Assault Suspect

Police have arrested a creep suspected of a sexual assault spree that began back in March  – including an .

Cops nabbed 24-year-old Bensonhurst resident William Giraldo in connection with a June 4 rape. According to police, on Saturday Giraldo followed a woman into her Sunset Park apartment on 55th Street, where he forced her to the ground and raped her. He was charged with rape, sexual abuse and robbery in relation to the incident.

But Giraldo is also , stretching back to a horrific rape attempt in Park Slope in March, in which a 24-year-old woman was attacked while walking home on 16th Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues.

A video of attack became widely circulated, after a neighbor shared a video of the incident taken by a stationary security camera on his house.

The video shows a woman, shrieking, as she attempts to fight off a husky man as he gropes her from behind, his pants pulled down. The woman eventually fights him off and the attacker flees just as a neighbor steps outside to investigate the commotion.

On May 3, cops say the pervert struck again, grabbing a 32-year-old woman from behind on Ridge Boulevard in Bay Ridge, attempting to force her to the ground and threatening her with a knife. The man fled again, the woman received minor injuries.

Then on May 29, the man approached a 20-year-old woman on 55th Street in Sunset Park, pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her. The woman resisted and once again, the culprit fled on foot.

According to Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, Giraldo actually turned himself after seeing a surveillence video of himself ciruclated by the NYPD, but claims to have had nothing to do with the crimes.

Giraldo has not yet been charged in these additional rape attempts. The investigation is ongoing.
