Car Crash Sends Pregnant Passenger to Hospital

An FDNY spokesman said the woman was taken from the Union Street accident in serious but stable condition.

A car crash on Union Street and Fourth Avenue injured a pregnant woman riding in one of the vehicles Friday afternoon, according to officials.

"I was stopped and as soon as [the traffic light] went green, I hit the gas," said Damian Troise, whose four months pregnant girlfriend was riding in the passenger seat.

Troise was driving his green Saturn across Union Street when he collided in the middle of the intersection with a livery cab heading north on Fourth Avenue.
