If you are looking for an academy to train in, please look no further. This academy is everything that I ever wanted and more!

The energy inside the academy is absolutely amazing. Every single student that is part of the academy, including the professors are very welcoming, kind, friendly and supportive. The academy accepts students from little children to full adults. There are different levels of classes and there is always a place for YOU whether you just want to get fit or you want to take the arts seriously.
Unlike other academies, PSA has a bigger percentage of female students enrolled, which i felt was important since I am a female and this creates a much better balance and energy flow in class time.

Our professors are incredibly talented and dedicated to this art. I believe, the one person they can thank is their professor and mentor Marcelo Garcia who they learn from on a weekly basis. Marcelo Garcia is a world BJJ champion and an incredibly respected teacher. He has won numerous championships including five world championship titles in Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a black belt. He has been awarded the most technical fighter twice in his career and has opened two Jiu Jitsu schools; one near Miami and one in New York City and on top of that he also has an online training database that includes recorded instruction from his classes in addition to Marcelo's daily sparring sessions which anyone in the world can observe.

Considering the fact that the academy only opened in February of 2012, its rapid growth has been wonderful. My husband also joined the academy a couple of months after me which brought us together much closer, provided us with an interest to share and is keeping us very fit! To have new training partners on the mat is always very exciting! We've had many promotions to blue belts which shows many students day in and day out dedication to the arts. Just to top it all off, my fellow training partners including myself have also competed a few times in the last year and have brought home beautiful, colorful and shiny gold, silver and bronze medals which makes me even prouder to call this academy my home.

So, whether your interest in joining the class is to improve fitness, learning self defense and feeling more confident, improving self esteem, finding a hobby or an activity in your life that you enjoy, providing stability to your weekly schedule and even taking the classes seriously and moving to the competing level, PSABJJ can provide all of this for you.

Please come and join us on the mat :)
