Man of Steel, The Internship: Park Slope Movie Times

Looking to see a movie? Here's the latest shows at The Pavilion, as well as other nearby theaters.

Looking to see a movie this weekend? If you're in the Park Slope area, check out The Pavilion.

Featuring a $8 matinee for shows before 4 p.m., and $11 after, a collection of movies that many national theater chains are playing and the old-timey experience of going to the movies, The Pavilion offers a lot to like.

Playing this weekend (June 14-16)

The Internship (PG-13) is about two unemployed salesmen, best known as the knuckleheads from Wedding Crashers, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, competing against young buck interns for a job at Google.

Man of Steel (PG-13)

is Superman's return to the big screen. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane star as the parents of Clark Kent, played by Henry Cavill, in the film produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight).
This is the End (Not rated) has an all-star cast that includes James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogan, Jay Baruchel and Danny McBride, who star as themselves in a comedy about six friends trapped in a house after chaos hits Los Angeles.

Fast & Furious 6 (PG-13)
returns the crew of this franchise, which features fast, and often furious, cars.

Now You See Me (PG-13) is about four illusionists pulling off heists on corrupt business leaders. Their greatest trick (OK, I mean illusion...tricks are something a ... well, never mind) is robbing a bank on stage. It looks entertaining, but their boldest move is probably naming the movie "Now You See Me." What if no one does?

The Great Gatsby (PG-13) stars Leonardo DiCaprio as the iconic partyboy in the roaring '20s. Reviews are pretty poor, but what I'm most interested in what people think about using director Baz Luhrmann's name as a verb, as in, "He really Luhrmanned this movie," which means he made it overly flashy but lacked substance. But hey, maybe that style fits with Gatsby.

Star Trek: Into Darkness (PG-13) is the sequel of this re-vamped sci-fi franchise. The crew of the Enterprise is called home but runs into an unstoppable force.

Epic (PG) has Beyonce, so go see it. A teen girl finds herself in a mysterious universe and must fight to save her world.
