5 Things: Help Save Brooklyn Animal Foster Network at Littlefield Tonight!

1. Save the animals. In an effort to help save the Brooklyn Animal Foster Network (BAFN) from closing, which is suffering the double whammy of decreased donations and increased need, Osekre and the Lucky Bastards will play a benefit show at Littlefield tonight. A suggested donation is $10 per person, the full proceeds go to the Network's mission to rescue abandoned and abused cats and dogs, promote responsible pet ownership, and advocate for animal welfare. Emergency Benefit to Save Brooklyn Animal Foster Network, Littlefield, 622 Degraw St., tonight at 7 p.m.

2. Go to the Brooklyn Museum. Don’t miss the exhibit LaToya Ruby Frazier: A Haunted Capital at Brooklyn Museum. Frazier’s show features approximately 40 photographic works that intimately connect the artist’s family and hometown, Braddock, Pennsylvania through portraiture and social documentary. The project addresses how the effects of industrialization and de-industrialization creates sociological, economic and environmental shifts; impacting the lives of individuals as well as their communities. LaToya Ruby Frazier: A Haunted Capital, Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, starting at 11 a.m. 

3. Listen to finger-style guitar. Come hear Vinny Bunnicelli, Kelli Scarr and The Fine Machines play tonight at The Way Station. Vinny Bunnicelli will play fingerstyle guitar with a mix of pop, funk and indie rock. The Way Station, 683 Washington Ave, 8 p.m.

4.Watch a flick. Stop by Brooklyn Academy of Music to see the film Faust. With his ever-gliding camera, iconoclastic auteur Alexander Sokurov (Russian Ark) offers this hypnotic take on the Faust legend, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
