What's Open and Closed This Christmas

Your guide to what's open in Park Slope this holiday.

We like to think we have it all wrapped up come Christmas Day, but sometimes we need that last-minute item, bottle of wine or hostess gift. 

Here is a list of what is open and closed this Christmas in Park Slope:

- The Park Slope Library is open until 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve. All branches of the Brooklyn Public Library are closed on Christmas

- There is no garbage or recycling pick-up. Garbage will be picked up Thursday morning and recyclables will be collected next week for those whose normal garbage day is Wednesday.

- All government offices, courts are closed and there is no mail delivery. 

- Public schools are closed through Jan. 1. 

- Alternate side parking is suspended for Christmas Day and meters are off.

- Extra MTA trains are running on Christmas Eve. All subways and trains will be running on a Sunday schedule Christmas. 

- All local bank branches are closed Christmas Day.

- Key Food on 7th Avenue is open until 10 p.m. Christmas eve but closed on Christmas. The Key Food on 5th Avenue is open 24 hours both days.

- The new Gowanus Whole Foods Market is open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Christmas.

- Grab some wine last-minute wine and drinks at Picada Y Vino from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or Shawn Fine Wine & Spirits from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Tea Lounge is open Christmas Eve until midnight and opens at 7 a.m. on Christmas. Gorilla Coffee is open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas.

- A few select bars open on Christmas, including Uncle Barry's (regular hours), Union Hall (5 p.m.), The Owl Farm (1 p.m.), Lucky 13 (5 p.m.), High Dive (8 p.m.) and 4th Avenue Pub (4 p.m.).
