World's Largest Menorah Lighting to Honor Park Slope Boy Killed by Car

Ceremony kicks off Wednesday night in Grand Army Plaza.

Brooklyn knows how to do Hanukkah right.

The Chabad of Brooklyn is once again kicking off a local tradition Wednesday night, with the lighting of the self-proclaimed "world's largest menorah" in Grand Army Plaza.

According to Chabad of Brooklyn, the lighting Wednesday will take place at 6 p.m., with the times varying on each day. It will be dedicated to Samuel Cohen-Eckstein, the young boy tragically killed after being struck by a car on Prospect Park West.

As always, in addition to free latkes, there will be live music and more. It's worth a look, even if you're just passing through the plaza.

The celebration continues in Park Slope at 7 p.m. with a Chanukah Billiard Bash at Oceans 8 at Brownstone Billiards, 308 Flatbush Ave.
