Park Slope Dad Honored for Role in Catching Alleged Groper
Lawrence Abdullah helped nab suspected Park Slope child groper.
A suspected child groper is in police custody thanks to a big assist by a Park Slope dad.
Lawrence Abdullah has received recognition by Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly and local pols including Brad Lander for his role in catch Jesse Dailey last week. Dailey was arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault tied to a number of 'forcible touching' incidents involving young girls between the ages of 10 and 14.
Abdullah gave chase to Dailey and retrieved his identification after he tossed aside and ran away from a cop who was questioning him, according to a report on DNAInfo. The report also states Dailey's lawyer is calling his client a victim of mistaken identity.
The father, along with friend Mahdhi Whareed, received thanks from Kelly. Abdullah was given a proclamation from Council Member Brad Lander this week.
