BROOKLYN ZUMBATHON To Raise Funds for Coalition for Hispanic Family Services

NY. – May 20th, 2012
Over 250 men and women will participate in five hours of non-stop exercise and dance to a Latin beat while
raising funds to support the COALITION FOR HISPANIC FAMILY SERVICES. This unique and compelling event, Zumba Pa’ Mi Gente~Zumba for My Community,
will take place on Sunday May 20th, 2012, from 1pm to 6 pm at The DUMBO Loft in downtown Brooklyn. Zumba Pa’ Mi Gente ~ Zumba for My Community calls for the Latino
community: residents, professionals, business leaders and others to make a pledge or come out and show their support for the only Latino foster care and
family service agency in NYC.
Zumba Pa’ Mi Gente ~ Zumba for My Community is spearheaded by Lilly Leon, owner of La Mystika, a
yoga and Zumba studio in Merrick, Long Island. Co-sponsoring the event is Vanessa Polanco, President of Verde Custom Flowers, located in Bronx, New York. Both Latina businesswomen, each successful in
their own right, are committed to giving back to their community and have generously offered their time and resources to sponsor this event.
COALITION FOR HISPANIC FAMILY SERVICES was founded in 1990, and provides foster care and adoption, mental health, family support, after school and youth development programs for children and families in Brooklyn and Queens. Proceeds from the Zumbathon will support the many programs of the COALITION FOR HISPANIC FAMILY SERVICES and the 3,500 children and their families who benefit from these services.
