Every year New York City conducts the Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE) to see how many people are living on our streets.
This year, before the count, the Park Slope Interfaith Social Justice Network and Councilmember Brad Lander will be hosting a dinner and discussion about homelessness, and what can be done about it. Before the discussion, there will be a potluck dinner. Bring a dish to serve and canned goods to donate to St. Augustine’s Helping Hands food pantry.
To volunteer for the HOPE census count at 10:30pm that night, dial 311 or register at https://a071-hope.nyc.gov/hope/welcome.aspx. Volunteers canvass the streets, parks and subways of New York City. This is a separate event from the "Fighting Homelessness" dinner and discussion.
