1st Amendment Hack Jam - Free Event for Teens

Nearly every week, we read a story about a student whose statements or actions raise questions about where 1st Amendment rights end and school rules begin. Can students get in trouble at school for things they say or do online, out of school?

At the 1st Amendment Hack Jam, tweens and teens will explore their constitutional rights by remixing websites and videos, expressing their opinions on controversial topics, and gaining a better understanding about fair use, expressive conduct in schools and more. Youth-produced media will be screened and hands-on activities will be facilitated by members of Hive Learning Network NYC including Common Sense Media, World Up, People's Production House and The LAMP.
