About Young Players

Theater

Young Players

Theater is a not-for-profit educational theater program dedicated to providing

positive, enriching theater experiences for children of all ages and

backgrounds. We offer affordable after-school classes, in-school residencies,

summer camps and holiday break programs in the NYC metro area. Through exposure

to worldwide performance traditions and a celebration of students’ diverse

cultures and talents, YPT offers a safe and nurturing space for young people to

explore, connect, learn and create.

Young Players

learn to make theater that springs from and speaks to their deeply creative

impulses, through educational programs that lead to original performances.

Classes and camps are designed to showcase new work crafted for and by

children, and cultivate their individuality as artists and developing social

beings. Committed to the communities we serve, our experienced instructors

bring a variety of skills and methodologies to transform every session into a rehearsal, every space – indoor or outdoors – into a studio, and every action

into proactive theater making.

*for working parents unable to attend the

sharing, we will videotape the performance and share it
