Open House: The Devi Project: Executive Coaching for Women of Color in Public Education

The Devi Project: Executive
Coaching for Women of Color in Public Education™ invites women
leaders of color who serve in K-12 public school settings to participate
in a powerful, results-oriented leadership development program

beginning in Fall 2013.

Using research-based theories of
organizational dynamics, participants in the Devi Project will develop
greater comprehension of their leadership roles, learn how to critically
assess their effectiveness, create strategies for personal and
professional success, construct specific plans to improve student and
staff performance, and explore how to maximize positive school
outcomes.

Over the course of a full year, school leaders will
work directly with coaches, established leadership experts and fellow
Devi Project members in one-to-one, small group and workshop settings. Guest lecturers will include successful women leaders of color and key
thought leaders from a variety of fields who will provide practical tips
and tools for leadership development.

All participants will also have regular, ongoing access to Devi Project coaches in addition to their scheduled sessions.

During their year with the Devi Project, school leaders will:

--deepen their understanding of their leadership strengths and learn how to leverage them

--examine how their personal values and principles guide their work as leaders
--acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to design and implement change efforts within their schools
--identify and cultivate resources to promote school improvement -explore the difference between management and leadership

Please join us for an introductory open house on Tuesday,
July 23rd at the Brooklyn Public Library’s Shelby White and Leon Levy
