Kings County Fiber Festival

Are you a knitter, crocheter or spinner? Are you looking for the perfect hat for the upcoming winter, or a soft toy for that special kid? Then the second annual Kings County Fiber Festival is the perfect way to spend your Columbus Day weekend.

Hosted on the grounds of the historic Old Stone House, a reconstructed 1699 Dutch farmhouse, and co-sponsored by Park Slope yarn shop Stitch Therapy, the event will bring together knitters, crocheters, dyers, spinners, felters, weavers and more to celebrate both historic and contemporary approaches to the fiber arts.

The centerpiece of the event will be a marketplace with a juried selection of New York City and tri-state area artisans selling colorful hand-dyed yarn, wool roving and fleece. Non-kitters can browse a variety of handmade toys, home goods and stylish winter fashion accessories. There will also be guest talks and demonstrations of fiber- related techniques and manual crafts, such as spinning and carding, as well as finger knitting for children.
