Free Open House Sing-along at Music Together of Park Slope

Music Together of Park Slope, at 386 First St., is holding a free open house sing-along, Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., to celebrate the release of "Raising a Beatle Baby: How John, Paul, George and Ringo Helped us Come Together as a Family."

Music Together teachers
Jennifer Hopkins, Stephen Taylor and Theresa Wozunk will lead a karaoke
jam and singalong, featuring some "fab" classics and Music Together
favorites. The first five families to arrive will receive a gift bag
with copies of "Raising a Beatle Baby" and CDs by Music Together
teachers. Music Together of Park Slope offers family music classes for
children, birth to four, and their caregivers.

Copies of the book will be available for signing by "Beatle Baby" author and journalist Jere Hester,
a lifelong Brooklyn resident. "Raising a
Beatle Baby" tells the story of how Hester, his wife Theresa and their
daughter Ella, a Music Together veteran, made the Fab Four the
soundtrack for a quixotic family life that’s taken them to Hamburg,
London and Liverpool.

With a little help from her parents, Ella
befriended the elderly woman who lives in Ringo Starr's boyhood home.
She got an answer from Yoko Ono on why the Beatles broke up. And, at age
8, Ella met Paul McCartney – helping inspire her burgeoning music
career and teaching the family the value of following even the craziest
of dreams.

"Raising a Beatle Baby," an
often humorous and occasionally touching tale about family bonding
through pop culture, is available in print and eBook editions via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes and other platforms. More information can be found at www.BeatleBaby.com and Facebook. Check out the promotional video at YouTube.
