Whiskey Shivers, The Grand Prospect, Emily Danger at The Rock Shop!

Whiskey Shivers
"As legend has it (depending on whom you ask, or whoever is telling the story), Austin quintet Whiskey Shivers formed around 2009. Some say they were hatched in a woodpile. Others say they tumbled out of one-a them rancid whiskey bottles and frightened the locals. But mostly, it was a talented bunch of musicians who figured they'd make great music together." -Laurie Gallardo, KUT Austin

The Grand Prospect
Solid songwriting, killer pickin’ & grinnin’; a great-grandfather’s baritone uke; bar-room piano; a driving rhythm section; the obligatory heartbreak, dusty road & whiskey references; and, of course, good-old fashioned guitar slingin’. Call it Americana, call it folk-rock, call it alt-country...we just call it a damn good time.

Emily Danger
"Emily Danger pushes the definition of indie rock while providing a one-of-a-kind listening experience. The world has yet to be exposed to music so richly unique and layered with talent." ("lemonade magazine")
Emily Danger is a dark cabaret rock band from New York City. The band consists of Emily Nicholas (vocals, piano), Ryan Nearhoff (vocals, guitar), Cameron Orr (violin, melodica, vocals), Colin Lime (drums), and Coyote Anderson (bass).

Their music consists of lyrics written by Emily and music and arrangements created by the band. Emily Danger combines haunting melodies and vulnerable lyrics with orchestral, heavy, and often dissonant arrangements. they released their first ep, "Paintings" in april of 2012 to widespread acclaim.

"the most enchanting moments on "paintings" are when nicholas' voice truly serves as an instrument in its own right and, not only does the listener get mesmerized in her singing, they don't want it to end." ("Thirty Roses")
in august, the band toured across the united states and canada to sold out crowds in their glorious, big, white van, the dangermobile. they continue to play throughout the east coast and are based in brooklyn, new york.
"...beautiful, perfectly executed songs that defy categorization." ("Music Review unsigned magazine")

The band is named after a nickname given to Emily by Colin because "Danger" is, in fact, her middle name.
