Community Corner

Brooklyn Contra Dance Party

Contra dancing is a type of community folk dance. You’ll dance to live music with several partners throughout the night (it’s a great way to meet new people!)  There is no fancy footwork involved, anyone can do it!  All the dances are taught and walked through with instructions provided from the stage, by the Caller. It’s good ol’ fashioned fun right here in Brooklyn!

This time, the caller is Linda Leslie and you'll hear great live music from the band Black River Ironworks (Michael Friedman, Jonah Sidman, and Corey Walters)
