CITY STOMP CD RELEASE PARTY & CONCERT

City Stomp, the Brooklyn-based kindie rockers
known for playing fun, city-themed tunes, rock versions of children’s classics
and music that crosses cultural borders, will celebrate their first CD in three
years when they perform never-before heard songs at “The Blue Line” Record
Release Concert on Oct. 27 at 2:30 at Littlefield, Brooklyn.

The fourth CD from the popular band, The Blue
Line is the first to celebrate music with American origins, with songs that feature
jazz, funk, rock, , bluegrass, hip hop and other regional sounds with roots in
the USA.  Previous collections feature
updated folk songs from various cultures such as Caribbean
and Jewish (The
Green Line), African and Irish (The Red Line)
and Latin American (The Orange Line).  CD titles are a nod to color-coded subways, a
familiar icon to an audience of kids being raised in New York City.

“City Stomp is all about embracing the vast
cultural influences found in New York City,” explains City Stomp founder Kevin
MacCallum. “We love to share music with roots around the world because it’s what
our audience hears daily, from car radios to boom boxes in the park or on the
corner and around town.  We mix it up
with fun, original songs about New York experiences –
going to Coney Island, riding the subway – that resonate with kids as well.

“We’ve found that incorporating familiar
sounds and imagery builds a meaningful connection for a young audience.  Our goal is to do it in a way that is not
only educational to the kids, but entertaining to the grownups who often have
to listen to their kids’ favorite songs over and over,” says the artist and
father of three.

The concert playlist includes both classic
and original songs that the juice box set can easily relate to, delivered in lively
fashion.  The Big Rock Candy Mountain is
an old bluegrass song about a theme that never gets old around kids.  Original songs highlight day-to-day passions
of young children.  Goin’ to The
Playground” celebrates outdoor play in a funk style; “Just Share,” delivers its
message with hip hop overtones, while “Dancin’ All Day Long” is a lively rock
and roll song about – what else --  dancing.

Not only does the concert celebrate the
release of the long-awaited new CD, but it coincides with the band’s annual Halloween
concert, typically one of its most popular performances of the year.

"This year, we’re
planning double the fun since we’re performing music from our new CD, plus a
few ghoulish favorites.  We encourage kids
to wear costumes, as well as to jump, play, sing along and rock out with a few
scary sounds of their own,” says MacCallum.
