An Evening of Art and Music at St. Francis Xavier

CHURCHES: GOD’S HOLY TEMPLE ON EARTH

On Monday evening, art historian Francis J. Greene, Ph.D, Professor at St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, will examine the art and architecture of outstanding western churches. The emphasis will be on how various artistic elements contribute to the central purpose - the celebration the Eucharist. Dr. Michael Kaminski, Adjunct Professor of Music at St. Francis College, and the St. Francis Xavier Choir will perform sacred choral pieces performed within the walls of these churches and, in some cases, composed specifically for these worship sites.
