Saturday, April 28: NYC Food Blogger Bake Sale in Fort Greene supports No Kid Hungry!

Support 'No Kid Hungry' this weekend at the NYC Bloggers Bake Sale in Fort Greene, Brooklyn!

Dear Patch Readers:

I am thrilled to share with you my first ever blog post for the Patch. Thanks for stopping by!

Like many of you who read this site, I, too, enjoy good food, exploring New York City and being a part of a great community that does its part to help others. And, like many of you, I am a life-long Sloper—which makes me even more excited to share the topic of my first post: the NYC Food Blogger Bake Sale, right here in Brooklyn, in support of Share our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign!

This Saturday, April 28, a number of culinary professionals and local food bloggers (such as myself) are teaming up to raise funds for No Kid Hungry, an organization that seeks to end childhood hunger in the U.S. This fantastic organization has designed a nationwide fundraiser called the “Great American Bake Sale”, in the hopes of raising up to $50,000 to support their cause and to provide meals for children in need.

Please be sure to stop by this weekend to buy treats and support the NYC Bake Sale, which will be held from 10am to 5pm at the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene (176 Lafayette Ave). With the help of generous donations of baked goods (see the list of some of our donors below), we are hoping to sell many delicious items. Desserts include chocolates, cupcakes, cookies and bars in addition to vegan and gluten-free friendly items.
