The Week in Park Slope

What happened this week on Park Slope Patch.

This week, the Prospect Park West bike lane dominated the news on Patch and elsewhere.

On Monday night, Neighbors for Better Bike Lanes and Seniors for Safety took the lane debate to the courts after against the city, arguing for the removal of the controversial bike lanes.

The next day, Councilmember Brad Lander and others met on the steps of City Hall to for the bike lanes. And on Thursday, advocates of the lanes showed up en masse to voice their support at a Community Board 6 .

Of course, there was other news this week as well.

Remember the Methodist Hospital scandal that broke back in January? Last week a former Slope resident for her alleged role in pushing Adderall over the Internet.

On Wednesday, we took a look at the rates that will hit Park Slope in May, part of the Park SMART program which was piloted in the neighborhood in 2009.

And lastly, on Friday court documents revealed that a top Atlantic Yards executive may have pressed state Sen. Carl Kruger – who is already in hot water thanks to massive corruption charges – for to fund a portion of the controversial development.
