Holiday Miracle on B61 Bus

Good Samaritan bus driver returns purse full of $2,300 in Christmas cash.

Hey, maybe the B61 isn’t so bad after all – Park Slope office manager Maureen Rice was reunited with her purse full of $2,300 in Christmas money yesterday, thanks to good Samaritan B61 bus driver Reuben Cornick, reports the Daily News.

Rice, a Windsor Terrace resident, was riding the B64 and B63, before just catching the B61 on December 15, says the Daily News. Carrying an armload of holiday gifts, Rice forgot her purse on the bus, but luckily Cornick spotted the bag full of cash and turned it in.

“We need more people like him,” Rice told the Daily News.
