Park Slope: WATCH: MillionTreesNYC Program Plants 31 Trees in Park Slope

A crew of contractors working for the Department of Parks and Recreation planted 31 trees throughout Park Slope on Wed.—thanks to the MillionTreesNYC program.

The crew, with almost three-dozen trees stacked on the bed of a truck, dug holes in sidewalk tree pits and planted the saplings on Wednesday morning.

And just like that, Park Slope got 31 new trees to beautify the neighborhood along Eighth Avenue, Fifth Avenue and Union and President streets among places.

Prospect Heights: Gunman Ambushes Deliveryman in Eastern Parkway Lobby

A restaurant deliveryman was ambushed in an apartment building lobby by a gunman who apparently used trickery to get him there, according to a police report on Saturday, March 23. 

The victim said he tried to deliver the food to the building on Eastern Parkway between Classon and Franklin, but when he got to the apartment, the occupants said they hadn't placed an order.

When the deliveryman returned to the lobby at 7:15 p.m., a mugger put a gun to his head and stole the man's cell phone and $310 in cash.

Carroll Gardens: Beyoncé Brings Blue Ivy To Buttermilk Channel

Mrs. Shawn Carter was spotted having brunch at Buttermilk Channel on Sunday, and to the delight of passersby (and paparazzi) her 14-month-old daughter with Jay-Z was in tow.

"Dressed in a black hoodie and sunglasses, Jay-Z’s wife looked cozy on her Sunday afternoon lunch date," described the News. "Blue Ivy, who wore Timberland boots, jeans and a hooded green jacket, gently rested her sleepy head on her mommy’s chest."

Bed-Stuy: Man Killed on Pulaski Street

A 29-year-old man was killed inside his Pulaski Street home early last Sunday morning.

Police were called to 202 Pulaski St. between Throop and Tompkins avenues at about 2:28 a.m. to find the man shot several times, police said. 

The man, later identified as Jonathan Emanus, was taken to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. 

Fort Greene-Clinton Hill: Woman Assaults Officer During Arrest: Police Blotter

On March 22 at 4:19 p.m. a police officer responded to a dispute on Fulton Street near Flatbush Avenue. The 31-year-old woman causing the dispute refused to leave and kicked and scratched the officer while she was being arrested, cutting and bruising the officer. 

Ditmas Park: Senior Citizen Struck With Padlock Chain During Argument

What began as an argument escalated to a physical attack after a man struck a 69-year-old man in the head with a padlock chain at 3:50 p.m. on March 10 in an East 18 Street home near Church Avenue. The victim's forehead was cut, but he refused medical treatment. 

Windsor Terrace-Kensington:

New fantastic food vendors and a Friday night concert have been added to the highly anticipated The Great GoogaMooga food and music festival, returning to Brooklyn's Prospect Park this May.

Organizers Superfly announced on Tuesday that they will be expanding a third day of treats to the weekend festival—May 17, 18, 19—and that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Flaming Lips will be the lineup's respective headliners for 2013.
