Park Slope: 

Police arrested a 28-year-old waiter from a fancy Fifth Avenue restaurant after he stole almost $8,000 over a four-month period from Dec. 1, 2012 through March 7, 2013.

The 47-year-old witness, who also works as a waitress at the restaurant between First Street and Garfield Place, told police that she saw the crooked waiter pocket cash from patrons’ checks at Blue Ribbon Brooklyn. Over a four-month period of time, the 28-year-old waiter ran a grift where he would steal cash from patrons’ checks and then enter that the checks were “paid” into the restaurant’s computer system. The waiter-turned-crook stole a total of $7,961. Police arrested the man March 11. 

Carroll Gardens: 

A roommate dispute that developed into a stabbing, ended when a Carroll Gardens man threatened police officers and was shot dead at the intersection of Hamilton and Court.

Prospect Heights: Hundreds Gather at Barclays Center to Protest Ringling Bros. Circus as Animal Cruelty

Groups, including Animal Defenders International, and families marched around Barclays Center on Wednesday evening urging residents to boycott the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The groups were there to protest the 12 days of performances by Ringling Bros., calling for an end to alleged animal abuses. Ditmas Park: Man Arrested in East 23rd Street Murder

Police arrested 21-year-old Justin Sarkodie of Ocean Avenue and charged him with the murder of 28-year-old Nestor Farrell. At approximately 11:16 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19 police responded to a 911 call of a man shot on East 23rd Street near Stephens Court. When police arrived, they found Farrell with a gunshot wound to the body. EMS also responded and pronounced Farrell dead on the scene.

Bed-Stuy: Bed-Stuy Rape Suspect Caught in Crown Heights

Richard Scott, 29, of Bedford-Stuyvesant was charged with rape, robbery and criminal obstruction of breathing. Scott allegedly stopped the victim outside her home near Ralph Avenue and Decatur Street at around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 24, when police said he robbed the woman and raped her, before choking her and then fleeing the scene.
