Blizzard Warning for NYC

National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for Park Slope beginning today

A major snowstorm is Brooklyn bound.

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the borough beginning today at 5 a.m. and lasting through through 6 p.m. Monday. According to the forecast, Brooklyn can expect around 12.4 inches of snow, with other parts of  northeastern New Jersey, New York City, southeastern Connecticut and Long Island getting up to 16 inches.

In addition to heavy snowfaill, the forecast calls for strong winds and a possibility of thunder,  snowdrifts and zero visibility at times. The storm developed off the Carolina Coast and will head north to Canada by Tuesday.
