1. Have a laugh. It's comedy night at Union Hall, with Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction at 8 p.m. ($10), followed by Brooklyn Females in Comedy.
2. Celtic tunes. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with the Highland Shatners & Jaime Nanci & The Blue Boys (from Dublin) at Freddy's Bar. The Shatners will play Celtic Folk with a mix of 60s Paisley Pop, Jaime Nanci and The Blue Boys are a classic Irish jazz/blues outfit from Dublin and Bop Monroe & Pocket Monster are AstroPop recording artists who jam on Celtic songs with wild originals.
3. Rock out. If you're more in the mood for the "fast, hard, hard rock n roll" of BC3 (the Brad Craig Trio), head to The Way Station. 683 Washington bet. St. Marks and Bergen. 10 p.m. Free.
4. Wax poetic. This weekend is Poetry 2013: Game Changers, BAM’s yearly showcase of the spoken word. The line-up includes Steve Colman, Tony Award-winning co-writer of Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam and musical guests the Mighty Third Rail and DJ Reborn. 7:30 p.m. $15.
5. Celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Before you hit the bar tomorrow, there's a wealth of more virtuous (well less alcoholic) things to do, from a redheads-only striptease to Irish-centric cemetery tours, to bake sales and bagpipes on parade. See our picks here.
