Oyster Bar Brooklyn Opens

The long-awaited Oyster Bar Brooklyn finally set a date and opened at 254-256 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope Dec. 18 at noon. The new 5,000-square foot restaurant features an open kitchen, retail market, bar and lounge area, and main dining room with 150 seats.

Hot Chocolate and Smores Bar Keeping Winter Warm for Park Slopers

Taking over the People's Pops spot for the winter, Winter Warmers was opened in October by friends Eric Holstein and Madison Gouzie.

Jackie's Fifth Amendment Closes; Patrick Stewart Says Goodbye

The long life and extended fall of Jackie's 5th Amendment is over. The dive bar closed its doors for good in November. The bar was sold off to Slope Drugs & Surgical Supply next door earlier this August, but remained opened for a few final drinks through the fall. 

Chocolate Room Gets Ready For Move, Needs Community Support

The Chocolate Room has been a Park Slope staple on 5th Avenue for the better part of a decade. Due to increased rent at its location just near the Barclays Center, the shop has been forced to move.

Fortunately, things fell into place and owners Naomi Josepher and Jon Payson are getting ready to move into their new location just a few blocks away at 51 5th Avenue.

This list is incomplete and inaccurate in its contents. casa Ventura is gone now a japanese sushi restaurant and loli's goes by another name. Sweet Melissa and two boots gone. Just to name a few.
