Savvy Slope shoppers now have a new way to save – the Fifth Avenue BID Discount Card has arrived, allowing folks to snag all manners of deals at Fifth Avenue retailers.
The card is free – simply pick one up at one of the participating merchants and start saving.
“We wanted to make something permanent that would attract people to shop locally,” said Irene LoRe, Executive Director of the Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District.
There are currently over 25 merchants participating, and LoRe hopes to sign on at least 50. Some of the best deals include all day happy hour draft specials at Timboo’s, 10 percent off at Melt and 20 percent off on all hair services on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Le Chandelier Salon.
LoRe said the deals will change often, and merchants can opt in or out whenever the choose.
“I think that it’s important for merchants to show that they are interested in cultivating business and giving back to the community,” said Fonda Sera, the owner of ZuZu’s Petals on Fifth Avenue between Fifth and Sixth streets.
The pretty flower shop is offering up 10 percent off on all in-store flower purchases over $50, Monday through Thursday.
“We hope that when people carry the card, they’ll think about shopping on Fifth Avenue a lot more,” said LoRe.
