The Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair on Sunday

On Sunday, May 20, the Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District will host a street fair with music, antique cars, arts and crafts, jewelry and great food on Fifth Avenue between Sterling Place to 12th Street from 12 to 6 p.m.

Get ready for a real Brooklyn-style street fair: The Fabulous Fifth Avenue Fair on Sunday, May 20 from 12 to 6 p.m.

The Fifth Avenue Business Improvement District will sponsor the fair, like it has every year for the past 25 years.

There will be music, over 100 crafters, jewelers, merchants and food.

“Our fair is not just about sausage and peppers and tube socks, it’s a real neighborhood event. We have record numbers of our own merchants and restaurants participating—we’ll have high value food,” said Irene LoRe, the executive director of the Fifth Avenue BID, explaining that restaurants like and will be serving food along the street. “It’s going to be really a fabulous day.”

There will be three stages for musical acts along Fifth Avenue: The first stage will be on the north end at Sterling Place, which will be programmed by the . The second stage, near Third Street, will be “kid central” with children’s bands, including the famous and two “tween bands” with members who are 12 years old. The third stage will be near 12th Street programmed with salsa bands, pop bands and a cover band.

Also, near M.S. 51 there will be rides for kids.

“The fair is sponsored by the community, for the community,” LoRe said.
