Starbucks Coming to Flatbush Avenue

The coffee mega-chain will open between Flatbush Avenue and Park Place within two weeks.

It’s official: The Seattle-born coffee chain is building its second location in Park Slope.

On Wednesday, Starbucks installed its signage in front of its new franchise outpost on the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Park Place.

The chain is taking over the enormous corner storefront at 164 Park Place, which was most recently Five Guys until it closed 14 months after its September 2011 grand opening.

Before Five Guys, the space was home to the mom-and-pop shop Park Heights Stationers, which closed after 25 years of serving the neighborhood due to the ballooning costs of rent in Brownstone Brooklyn.

According to a construction worker in the space on Thursday, Starbucks will open “sometime in the two weeks.”

“We have a lot of work to do, but we have a big crew of guys who are working from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday,” he said.
