Prospect Park Anniversary Ball Celebrates Carousel Centennial on Saturday

Buy a ticket f0r the park's biggest party of the year and support the vital work of the Prospect Park Alliance while you dance the night away, illuminated by the lights of the historic carousel.

 

Come celebrate the Prospect Park Carousel’s 100-year anniversary, black tie style!

This Saturday, The Prospect Park Anniversary Ball will commemorate the carousel’s centennial and the 25-year anniversary of the Prospect Park Alliance on the Carousel Lawn in the park.

The ball will be held under an elegant tent on the Carousel Lawn on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 6:30 p.m. through 12:30 a.m. To know the exact location of the soiree, click here.

The night, which costs $375 for the least expensive single ticket, calls for attendees to wear either “festive attire” or “black tie” for a night of cocktails, dinner, a silent auction, dancing, carousel rides
and
the Anniversary After Party from 10:30 p.m. through 12:30 a.m.

If you can’t make the ball, just come and join the ball guests after dinner and keep the party going! A DJ will spin tunes while you take a spin on the carousel. After-party revelers can enjoy an open bar, an indulgent dessert spread, carousel rides, dancing and more for just $60. Valet parking is available.

A few people will be honored at the Prospect Park Ball: Adrian Benepe, the Senior Vice President, Trust for Public Land and Former NYC Parks Commissioner; Jorge Juantorenapartner at Cleary Gottlieb and PPA Board Member and Ellen SalpeterDeputy Director for External Affairs, The Jewish Museum and Founding Director, Heart of Brooklyn.

Three awards will also be given:

Gina Ingoglia Weiner, ASLA, Author, Botanical Artist and PPA Board Member will receive the Wilbur A. Levin Award; James S.T. Stranahan Award will be given to Dany Cunningham, Security Administrator/Community Affairs, CAMBA and Prospect Park Community Committee; and Matilda Raffa Cuomo, Former First Lady of New York State (1983-1994) and Founder of New York State Mentoring Program/Mentoring USA will be given the Brooklyn Hero Award.
