Meeting on Proposed Seventh Avenue BID Tuesday Night

Come to this informational meeting and learn about the proposed Business Improvement District March 5 at Greenwood Baptist Church at 7 p.m.

Can Seventh Avenue be better, cleaner, and safer?

These are some of the questions the Park Slope Chamber of Commerce is asking to propose a Business Improvement District (BID) for Seventh Avenue.

If you want to learn more about the proposal and share your opinions, come to the informational meeting Tuesday, March 5 at the Greenwood Baptist Church on Seventh Avenue and the corner of Sixth Street at 7 p.m.

The Park Slope Chamber of Commerce, elected officials like Councilmembers Lander and Levin, and community groups are seeking to create the new BID (similar to the Fifth Ave BID and NFBID) to help “improve the cleanliness of our streets and sidewalks, beautify and green the area, produce promotional events and materials, and provide additional security through storefront cameras and volunteer patrols,” the Seventh Avenue BID’s website reads.

The proposed BID will include all properties along Seventh Avenue from St. Johns Place to 16th Street, including contiguous side street commercial properties.

If you have any questions about the proposed BID, visit: www.parkslope7avebid.com or e-mail: info@parkslope7avebid.com

Being that it is an election year, if you and other registered voters scream loudly enough, someoneRead More will hear you. This sounds like a job for the 7 On Your Side, or NY1 who may be able to reach NYCDOT and Higher Ranking officials at the 78th PCT to respond to your complaint and do something.
