Grand Central Oyster Bar's Park Slope Branch Will Locally Source Ingredients

The bar will occupy the space that formerly housed Fornino, at 254 Fifth Ave.

The immensely popular and iconic Grand Central Oyster Bar's impending Park Slope location will seasonally source ingredients from local markets, Zagat writes.

Patrons can expect a menu that "pays homage to the original Oyster Bar with an added Brooklyn flair," and will include sixteen kinds of oysters, shellfish, pan roasts and chowders, Zagat writes.

Vegetables, including kale, will be plucked from the stands of Park Slope's go-to produce spots, the restaurant guide detailed.

The Park Slope outpost, slated to open at 254 Fifth Ave. this fall, will hold 150 seats in the 5,000-square-foot property, the second largest business in the neighborhood. The spot formerly housed Fornino, a pizzeria that closed earlier this year.

In addition to its flagship location, Grand Central Oyster Bar currently has three outposts– one in Newark airport and two in Tokyo.
