  • Runneth Over
  • The Black Ruby
  • Unity Coffee
  • The Fresh Pot
  • Café Noella, which is a combination of Rapoport’s daughters’ names.

The community name game has created a buzz of suggestions: Bean Scene, Harriett's, Perk Slope, which was suggested by four people, Java & Jive, Percatory, Park & Sip, No Name Cafe, Dripster Coffee Bar, Occupy Seventh Avenue and Park Slurp.

“When I first thought about opening my own place I wasn't sure I was doing the right thing. But, it has become so clear that opening my own cafe is exactly the right thing to do,” Rapoport wrote in an E-mail. “The community's support, genuine concern and interest is inspirational. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has reached out to bring lightness to what was a very dark time for me.”

Rapoport is offering a free cup of coffee to whomever sends a name suggestion via E-mail.  Submit suggestions to namemycoffeehouse@gmail.com.
