Eat Some Texas Pig at Pork Slope

John Bates, a Texan chef, will cook at the Fifth Avenue BBQ joint for two nights—bringing some Southern flavor to Park Slope starting tonight.

Come on down to Pork Slope for some Texas eats tonight!

Chef John Bates, of popular Austin sandwich spot The Noble Pig, will be taking over Dale Talde’s kitchen at Pork Slope on Fifth Avenue for two nights, starting tonight, Tues., May 14.

The guest-chef from down south will be serving his very own special menu at the BBQ restaurant-bar through Wed., May 15.

Bates’ menu will include the below dishes:

  • Crispy Trotters and Pickles
  • Duck Cotto Salami
  • 30-Day Aged and Pressed Ham Sandwich with Red Eye Gravy and Greens
  • Smoked Beef Tongue Sandwich with Red Pepper Relish and Aioli
The Texas feast starts at 5 p.m. each night and will run until close.

But, if you still want Talde’s staples, like St. Louis Ribs or just a good-old cheese burger, don’t worry for the full Pork Slope menu will also be available. There are no reservations required, so just stop on by!

Pork Slope is located at 247 Fifth Ave., between Garfield Place and Carroll Street, Park Slope, Brooklyn.
