Despite Rumors, PSbklyn is Not For Sale

A for-sale ad for the Union Street eatery went up over the weekend — much to the surprise of the restaurant's owners.

is not for sale, but its owners may be looking for a new partner.

Early this morning, rumors began circulating the blogosphere that the kid-friendly Union Street eatery – which opened only last month – was on the market.

But owners of the eatery have denied the legitimacy of a for-sale listing for the restaurant that went up over the weekend on BizQuest, advertising a “state-of-the-art family restaurant” with an “array of arcade games” for just  $649,000.

“There’s no way this place is for sale,” said owner Steve Sohmer. “We had 700 bodies in here this weekend. This place is a goldmine.”

A call to the Listen Associates, who are mentioned in the ad, revealed that Mel Lisiten placed the listing.

“It’s not a fake listing,” said Lisiten.

According to Sohmer, Lisiten is an old friend of co-owner Tom Graziano. Sohmer said that Graziano revealed to Lisiten that the two owners might seek out a third partner, with a very small ownership interest in the restaurant.

Apparently Lisiten decided to take the initiative, and help his buddies out with their search – much to the surprise of both Sohmer and Graziano.

“This place is only going north, not south. We’re not looking for anything more than a small partner,” said Sohmer, who added that he felt “actually sick” upon discovering the listing.

The listing has already been removed from the website, but among other things, it cited the reason for the spot’s quick sale as divorce. Sohmer said that there’s no truth to that either – Graziano and his wife are very happily married.

“This restaurant is worth $1 million or more. The numbers aren’t even correct,” said Sohmer. “There is just no way we’re selling.”
