Community Bookstore to Expand to New Space in Windsor Terrace

The 41-year-old bookshop on Seventh Avenue will be taking over Babbo's Books on Prospect Park West in June

Good news, Park Slope bookworms! Your indie book sellers, Community Bookstore, is expanding its shop to our neighbors in Windsor Terrace.

Community Bookstore’s owners, Ezra Goldstein and Stephanie Valdez, said that they will open their new shop Terrace Books on Prospect Park West, between Windsor Place and Prospect Avenue sometime in June.

Terrace Books will be replacing the six-year-old used bookstore Babbo’s Books.   According to Valdez, Leonora Stein, owner of Babbo's books, was “ready to move on to other things, and we wanted to make sure a bookstore stayed in Windsor Terrace.”

“Selling used books provides us with an opportunity to serve up interesting, affordable books and to recycle some of the books that overflow from our customers' shelves,” Valdez said. “Plus, Windsor Terrace is great. Dub Pies and Terrace Bagels are neighbors, and The Double Windsor and Rhythm and Booze will be our local bars.”

Terrace Books will have a selection of used books, a few new books, kids' books, and more. There will also be delivery of new titles from Community Bookstore by bicycle. They will also specialize in out-of-print books and vintage dust jackets.

And if you’re a Babbo customers, they will honor your credits and gift certificates.

So, make sure you stop by the new store next week!
