Brooklyn Sauce Company Finds Support in Park Slope, Needs a Kick-Start

Salamander Sauce Company has found support in Park Slope and needs more as its Kickstarter campaign nears an end.

Timothy Kavarnos loves sauce.

While working in a Brooklyn kitchen, he decided to venture into the world of sauces and create his own hot and flavorful sauces from natural Brooklyn ingredients.

As the sauces gained popularity, Salamander Sauce Company was born, but they need help from the community. A Kickstarter campaign was started in July and they have already raised $13,497. With the campaign ending Saturday, they are looking to close in on their goal of $22,000 to help get the company off the ground.

The sauces are available in Park Slope at Stone Park Cafe -- which recently pledged $750 dollars -- and Backyard Restaurant

Those who pledge $25 or more receive an 8 oz bottle of Salamander Hot Sauce, your choice of flavors, plus a Salamander Thank You note and your name on the website as a supporter. Donate $50 or more and get all that plus three more bottles of sauce, and $100 or more gets two more bottles on top of that plus a Salamander T-shirt.
