New York youth soccer teams in Westchester and Brooklyn celebrated opening day with a little help from team sponsor Suave.

In Park Slope and Mt. Kisco, parents and kids alike were excited for the American Youth Soccer Organization’s new season, especially with added perks like free Suave Kids products to help them with clean-up after hard-fought games.

"I feel good and want them to get exercise and get outside," said Mt. Kisco parent Claudia Neary, whose daughter plays in the AYSO league. "This is a new sport for them, so we are excited.”

Neary’s daughters Jackie, age 7, and Jessica, age 5, play on the same team. How do they feel about their first day on the field this season? "I'm excited since it's been a long time since I've played soccer," declared Jackie.

"It's a new sport for me, and I really want to learn how to play," added sister Jessica.

Another parent, Vincent Sultana, has twins—7-year-old Matthew and Isabelle—who play on separate teams. "They played a little last year and are excited to play this year, although my son says he'd rather play the game and not have to go to practice."

For Isabelle, fashion plays a part, too. "She likes the yellow team shirt but played with her socks to determine the best look," Sultana said.

There’s no doubt some kids will bring fashion to the field, and Suave can help them look good off the field, too. Suave offers 3-in-1 products such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash in one, so after kids play their hearts out—with stained uniforms and shins to prove it—there’s probably no better way to make them feel refreshed and ready for their next match.
