After the pink brownstone on Garfield Pl. was sold in Oct., for $2.75 million, many people wondered what color would it become.
The new owner of the building at 233 Garfield Place had to check with the city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission to make sure they would be able to paint over the pink.
The LPC decided the house could be painted over, back to brown.
The construction crew said that the house would be brown, its original color before it was painted by former owner Bernie Henry in 1971, within two weeks.
"It's gonna take a while," a construction worker said on Friday, who was chipping off big slabs of pink brownstone. "We need to chip off each inch."
