Photo of the Day: The Moon as a Comet

The moon is a great subject, it's beautiful, celestial, and otherworldly. 

This week, the moon looked more like a double-tailed comet than the Big Cheese. While shooting a few pictures, the moon sat up in the sky surrounded with what looked like a coma , which is the nebulous envelope around the nucleus of a comet, and two tails. 

Although this photo was edited in Instagram, the tails were visible with the naked eye and the edit didn't change the moon's appearance.
