Yes, Fourth Avenue is for pedestrians and can use a lot of work to become Borough President Marty Markowitz's "."

But, there are times when Fourth Avenue, in all its bleak urban landscape and danger, when it is in fact beautiful. This thoroughfare is filled with great bars and restaurants and its grittiness can be somewhat inspiring too.
