CANVAS: An all-day Celebration of Art & Entertainment

Where/When: Brooklyn Lyceum, 227 4th Ave, Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m.

Why Go: A new-but-soon-to-be-legendary duo, Oxheart & The Gowanus Circus, are joining forces to bring a spectacular event to the Brooklyn Lyceum called CANVAS - an all-day three course celebration of art and entertainment for all ages. Here's the breakdown: Visual Art, Food Drive, City Stomp LIVE!, Face Painting, Circus, Concessions, Fire, Bake Sale, Music, Burlesque, plus much more!

Park Slope Farmers Market       

Where/When: Park Slope Farmers Market, 337 5th Ave, Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Come for real food in real weather, as the Park Slope Farmers Market now happens all year long! It’s on 4th Street, right off of Fifth Avenue, in Park Slope, every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The vendors are all local farmers and food producers who bring fresh, seasonal produce, breads, sustainable meats and fish, baked goods and small-batch specialties.

Free Muay Thai Kickboxing Class

Where/When: Class One Mixed Martial Arts & Crossfit, 85 4th Ave, Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3:30 p.m.

Why Go: Open House this Saturday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Professional Kickboxing World Champion, and trainer to champions in boxing, MMA & Muay Thai, Andrea Galbiati will be giving a free class during this open house. Come down for a great workout and learn some great fighting techniques. Don't forget to bring a friend!

Sunday Platform: "Living Martin Luther King Jr.’s Beloved Community"

Why Go: Come to the Sunday Platform: "Living Martin Luther King Jr.’s Beloved Community" with Greg Tewksbury and the Ethical Action Committee.
