Five Things to Do This Week, Jan. 14 to 18

Our picks for great events in the neighborhood.

Laugh off your case of the “Mondays” at Come to Littlefield Art & Performance Space at 8 p.m. for this great comedy show, featuring the best local and international stand up comedians, the occasional special musical guest, local celebrities, and surprise that can only be found in Gowanus.

As Martin Luther King, Jr. Day approaches, remember the man's life and legacy by visiting at 1638 Bedford Ave. The exhibit is based upon the art depicting King's work, some of which was rendered by artists that personally knew him. Though the exhibit is free, tours are given by appointment only. Please contact Izell Glover at (718) 270-4920 for more information.

Feeling lucky? At 7:30 p.m. the World Poker Tournament is holding a free Texas Hold 'Em session at Piramide Mexican Bistro at 499 5th Ave. Participants will have a chance to win a $ 10,000 buy-in to the Las Vegas Tournament.

Think you know your stuff? Come to Trivia Night at the New York Transit Museum, Boerum Pl & Schermerhorn St. Join trivia masters Stuart Post and Chris Kelley in the first-ever underground trivia battle. Teams test their knowledge of transit-themed movies, music, history, and culture in this pub-style event. Form your own team or meet new straphangers.

Mike Messer, lead singer of the Dirty Sock Funtime Band, as seen on Nick Jr., will be joining the Dean Street singalong on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Head to 755 Dean St. and chip-in $5 for the family to join in on the fun.
