Vs. Antelope / Damn This Desert Air / Your Skull My Closet / The New Self Defense

For a band whose tenure only dates back to the Spring of 2009, New York's Vs.Antelope is comprised of a line-up that carries a long, but significant history: As part of their respective roles with J.Majesty, jets To Brazil, Texas is the Reason, Retisonic, and Big Collapse, its memberes have shared stages and floorspace, and Best Western breakfasts for the better part of the last 15 years.

This Desert Air create big, booming, melodic rock wide in its breadth, sound and scope. Injected with heavy space riffs [think Oceansize, Cave In, Failure] with a foundation of post-hardcore [think Far, Quicksand], (Damn) This Desert Air are finding an audience who not only desire a thick, full blast of sound, but also attention to dynamic detail in their music. Creating memorable songs that also have a few left turns are what make (D)TDA stand firmly on their feet.

Your Skull My Closet began performing in Brooklyn, NY in 2008 with the expressed intent of resexualizing the nation's college rock scene (having no idea the format had died in the late 80s). Featuring ex-members of Detroit's infamous psycho-core unit Thoughts of Ionesco and Michigan's post-hardcore heroes Small Brown Bike, YSMC migrated to the big, rotten apple in search of inspiration and humiliation.
