Slavic Soul Party At Barbes

Is your knowledge of Slavic culture limited to the fact that you were a gypsy for Halloween once? Get a dose of the real deal with the Slavic Soul Party, weekly at Barbes.

Nine musicians play gyspy brass, Balkan ditties, plus American music. It's the place for Balkan music fans to dance the night away in New York, but Park Slope residents should stop on by as well to dance the night away.

The band is John Carlson & Kenny Warren (trumpet), Peter Hess (sax/clarinet), Peter Stan (accordion), Tim Vaughn & Matt Musselman (trombone), Ron Caswell (tuba), Matt Moran and Chris Stromquist (snare/bubanj/Darabouka).
