Private Screening of Basquiat Film: The Radiant Child
According to Green-Wood.com, "this new documentary chronicles the meteoric rise and fall of the young artist. In the crime-ridden NYC of the late 1970s, he covered the city with the graffiti tag “SAMO.” Twenty-five years old at the height of his career, Basquiat painted canvases that sell today for more than a million dollars. The film features interviews with Julian Schnabel, Larry Gagosian, Fab 5 Freddy, Jeffrey Deitch and many more."
This film screening is followed by wine and cheese; Q&A with Suzanne Malouk, artist, psychiatrist and Basquiat’s former girlfriend, and Michael Harmon, co-founder of Basquiat’s 1980s industrial noise band, “Gray”; and a visit to Basquiat’s grave.
Seating is limited. Reservations required.
